In 1993, some of the industry’s giants gathered in Washington, D.C., to talk about the need for a new organization dedicated to educating the nation and teaching design, construction and engineering professionals about design-build. Preston Haskell, founder and chairman of The Haskell Company, described the group as having ‘an almost missionary zeal about the merits of design-build delivery.’ Twenty-five years later, that same passion and zeal still characterizes the growing design-build industry and, here at DBIA, we are proud to celebrate a quarter-century of success.
