DBIA’s Educator Workshop program not only teaches university faculty the key elements and principles of design-build, but also how to incorporate design-build best practices into dynamic and innovate curriculums. Scholarship includes: Registration to a 3-day Design-Build Workshop (Certification Workshop) at any of the public offerings in 2020; and Registration, travel and lodging for a 1-day Educator Workshop (October 27, 2020 in the DC Metro Area) focused on ways to incorporate design-build curriculum into your teaching; and (optional) Complimentary registration to the Design-Build Conference & Expo (October 28-30, 2020 in the DC Metro Area) Interested universities/faculty must complete and return this application no later than July 20, 2020. DBIA will make every effort to help support and lend guidance throughout this process, so please do not hesitate to ask questions. 1. 3-day Design-Build Workshop: applicants agree to attend a 3-day Design-Build Workshop at any of the 37 offerings in 2020. While, registration is complimentary, travel/lodging expenses will be the responsibility of the applicant. 2. 1-day Educator Workshop: applicants agree to attend the 1-day Educator Workshop (October 27, 2020 in the DC Metro Area) and understand that DBIA will cover the cost of registration, travel up to $500, and up to 2 nights lodging. 3. 2019 DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo: applicants have the option to obtain a complimentary registration to the 2020 DBIA Design-Build Conference & Expo and one-night additional lodging. Testimonial: Participants will be asked for a written testimonial after the workshop and may be asked to participate in short interviews with DBIA staff about the workshop and importance of design-build education for future promotional activities. 5. DBIA Certification: Although not required, all successful applicants will be encouraged to seek design-build certification. Attendance at the workshop (and the online Code of Conduct webinar) satisfies all core course/educational requirements for the credential. Participating faculty would need to simply complete an application for approval to the Design-Build Certification Board and pass a comprehensive exam.
