DBIA has announced that the Transportation Research Board Executive Committee has named Richard Thomas, DBIA’s Director of State and Local Legislative Affairs, to its Committee on Project Delivery Methods. The appointment is for a three year term effective immediately.

“I am honored to join such an esteemed group of design-build advocates and industry professionals for service on the Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Project Delivery Methods,” says Richard Thomas. “Through advancing innovative delivery methods, and encouraging application of design-build best practices, we will work together to deliver higher-quality transportation projects at more efficient costs and time schedules for the benefit of communities across the United States and around the world.”

The Transportation Research Board serves to provide leadership in transportation innovation and progress through research and information exchange, conducted within a setting that is objective, interdisciplinary, and multimodal. It is one of six major divisions of the National Research Council— a private, nonprofit institution that is the principal operating agency of the National Academies in providing services to the government, the public, and the scientific and engineering communities.

Each year, the Transportation Research Board engages more than 7,000 engineers, scientists, and other transportation researchers and practitioners from the public and private sectors and academia, all of whom contribute their expertise in the public interest by participating on committees, panels, and task forces.
